Australian PM Introduces Program in India to Boost Educational Links

It seems that Australia is keen to make India as one of the biggest outsourcing centres of foreign students. It is trying hard to make educational relation to India well. In September 2014, Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, arrived India. The prime minister went to his nation after providing India a big surprise and that was the launch of the “New Combo Plan” in order to improve educational links between these two nations. The plan involves many educational related activities. Right after the launch of the plan, the prestigious Mumbai University and Australia’s leading Deakin University joined hands to organize student exchange program. It is a big opportunity for Indians to earn global knowledge.

According to a news agency of India, around 14 memorandum of understanding have signed between Indian universities and Australia. With the warm welcome of Australian prime minister, India has received great honour in terms of education. The Australian prime minister has committed to spend $100 million for the New Combo Plan.

The plan aims to encourage undergraduates of India to study in Australian universities. The prime minister of Australia addressed in a speech that around 40,000 students studying in Australia at present. He is keen that Australian students should also take interest in studying India so that the educational links between these two nations goes well.

The plan provides benefits of scholarships, foreign internships, research and various other sectors. The visit is considered valuable for both India and Australia. The National Skill Development Corporation of India and Australia’s Department of Industry have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the area of technical vocational education and training. By November 2014, it is expected to make the educational relationship between two countries stronger in the areas of automotive, telecom, IT and healthcare.
